If you are unhappy about being short, maybe this information will help you understand that you are not at the end of the road! Many do believe that once they stop growing, then that is it... they won't grow any taller. Actually, this is NOT true! Hey, is that good news or what?! There are many methods to increase height that are very effective.
Let's learn a little about how we grow. As babies, we have many more bones than we do as adults. Well, in saying we have bones, some of them are actually made of cartilage. So... as we grow, the cartilage warps and melds and gradually hardens to form adult bones.
Then, during puberty, the cartilage located on the end of our long bones, begins to slowly lengthen, and is the reason behind the "wild growth spurts" that are experienced at this time.
Knowing that, here are some helpful methods to increase height:
1. Wardrobe
We covered various issues about your wardrobe in the previous post, things like beware of not wearing different colours on top and botton... stick with solid dark colours all over; learn to love pinstripes; wear height enhancing insoles, or shoes/boots with heels... and wear chunkier footwear which creates the illusion for bigger feet, and therefore you being taller all over.
2. Exercise
Exercise during puberty is seriously important as it releases "height growth hormones" and keeps your bones healthy and strong. Growth spurts and exercise go hand in hand to ensure you reach your maximum height.
But even when the growth spurts slow right down, it's important to continue exercising... after all, you don't want to get fat do you? Putting on extra weight is the worst thing if you are wanting the illusion of being taller.
3. Diet
Diet, when you are young, is extremely important for your body to grow to it's fullest potential. Trouble is, it's also the time when young people believe that snacking often on Macas is an ok thing to do. It's such a shame that the young refuse to learn from those that have been around longer than they have. Your diet has an enormous effect on both your bones and your height.
Young people (in fact, all people :-)) need foods that are rich in proten, amino acids, calories, calcium (very, very important) and other nutrients to gain energy and stamina.
